  7. The ABS Kit Processing P.E.P. Pack interfaces with the ABS Wholesale
  8. Distribution System to let the distributor define and create kit products, then
  9. transfer completed kits to the WD inventory file. Kit Processing includes a
  10. ``what-if'' feature to project part requirements and costs without affecting
  11. inventory levels, as well as a ``where-used'' feature to keep track of
  12. components used in multiple kits. The package creates work orders to track
  13. work-in-progress, projects profit margins on demand, and print aisle/row/bin
  14. locations on work orders so that parts can be picked more efficiently. Once a
  15. work order to build kits is active, the job is automatically tracked against
  16. start and expected completion dates. Kit Processing also handles serial
  17. numbered items, supports comments as line items in kit definitions, and
  18. provides the option to view or print sub-kit detail. All management reports can
  19. be displayed directly on the screen for immediate access to critical cost and
  20. inventory information.
